Pecan Pastry
This recipe is a bit touchy, you must be careful not to press the dough into the shells too hard or you will have a hard time get ting them out of the tart pans. The pastry is amazing and decadent! After baking, fill them with pudding or line pastry shells with chocolate and fill with whipped cream. Fresh berries can be used as a garnish and make these dainties a real show stopper. This recipe is suitable for a single pie crust or 9-inch square baking dish.
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup ground pecans
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Mix all of the ingredients together with a fork until it resembles small peas.
- Form into 1 inch balls.
- Press into tart forms or muffin tins but not too hard.
- Preheat oven and bake at 350 F for 20 minutes oven.
- Allow to cool and then carefully remove shells from the container using the thin point of a knife.
- Fill as desired.
For a chocolate lining simply melt chocolate with a dab of butter and brush gently into shells before removing from tins.
